Help Wanted

Andre Correa's "Help Wanted" delivers a poignant look into a deplorable reality faced by too many veterans. There are some great shots and various details offer a deeper insight into this veteran's life as a civilian and much needed social commentary about hurting and accepting help.

I really enjoyed “Help Wanted”. Addresses current topics in a meaningful way. Thoughtful and well acted!

“Help Wanted” truly captures the many hardships our returning war veterans are faced with. Andre Correa (Lennar) magnificently portrays the unseen symptoms which on many cases lead to unfortunate loss of life.

The film serves to honor the sacrifices made by the men and women of our Armed Forces. But more importantly, it shines a light on our veteran’s silent cry for help. A must see for all significant others who bravely struggle to cope with the unthinkable.

Great movie, very intense and emotional great work.

True drama. With my experience, this shot film reflected a lot of what I know to be true. The plot and main character was more than believable, but gripping. The layers of each character, and their personal struggles being compartmentalized is genius. More than one topic in the realm of social justice is being address and the reveals are big. I gave the production five stars. I found the plot poignant and needed.

A beautifully made short film about a very relevant subject. The actors portrayed their roles in such a natural way that you not only believed them, but you also felt for them. The production is also nicely executed in its cinematography, editing, sound, etc. This is a near perfect short film that is sure to have an excellent festival run.

A well built narrative and script, Help Wanted treats a very sensitive and important subject with a non common-place approach.

Through a creative usage of camera angles and movements, subtle and gentile management of the cinematic language, the movie is able to build tension and sustain it throughout its duration.

The acting is very solid, which helps the arch of the characters keep its shape. It also guides the audience receive the unexpected plot twist with surprise.

I recommend this short film to all, work of a self-learned writer, director and actor.

Emotional with somber tones. And it ends up taking you where you didn't think it was originally going.

Andre Correa’s film about an 8 year veteran suffering from PTSD touches on many different aspects of the difficulties veterans face when readjusting to daily life upon returning from active duty. Difficulties ranging from financial/career struggles to an inability to connect with friends and family or to form and maintain relationships. I am not a veteran myself, but I believe Andre accurately captures the loneliness and isolation that so often accompanies PTSD, by offering the viewer a window into that world. The general public is gradually becoming more aware of the pain and struggles that accompany PTSD, but not nearly fast enough. I applaud Andre for tackling this issue, with a careful eye towards authenticity and sensitivity to those affected. With more films like this entering the public consciousness, we can raise awareness and create change in how we view and treat our veterans, both in public policy and in everyday interactions.

I love it. Unfortunately I’m so many cases solders come home in the same situation. It was intense and real. I wish you a lot of luck so you can do a longer version of it.
